<p>In October 2014 Felicity Spearing graduated from Plymouth College of Art with a BA in Fashion. Felicity made the most out of the opportunities on offer throughout her 3 year degree.</p> <p><em>“I met some amazing and inspiring people, the whole fashion team works hard every year to prepare each student for their future careers by honing in on their individual interests and talents. The structure of the course allows you to explore every path within the fashion industry from technical work through to business and marketing, which ultimately allowed me to discover my interest in garment construction.”</em></p> <p>During Felicity’s second year, she secured a two week work experience placement at Anderson and Sheppard which was extended into the summer.</p> <p><em>“I learnt some very interesting and valuable garment construction techniques. I then came back to the college for my third year bringing some of my newfound knowledge with me.”</em></p> <p>Felicity kept in regular contact with her work placement during her 3rd year. When Felicity had graduated she was offered a job making suits for Anderson and Sheppard. Felicity worked at the company Director’s home in Somerset for 6 months initially to build up experience. In January 2015 Felicity was offered a 4 year apprenticeship with the company and had some experience working at the Anderson and Sheppard shop in London.</p> <p><em>“If it wasn’t for that push to undergo work experience I might never have met my mentor and would not be in the position I am today, the fashion department at Plymouth College of Art do a wonderful job and I would like to thank them for three fantastic years.”</em></p> <p>Felicity continues to build upon tailoring skills and techniques whilst working closely with her mentor from Anderson and Sheppard. </p>
